Overview of Invivo's DynaCAD & DynaTRIM
Last year, Invivo introduced its first commercially available MR prostate solution for analysis, planning and biopsy of the prostate gland - DynaCAD for Prostate and DynaTRIM (Trans-Rectal Interventional MRI). Our complete clinical MR solution for prostate combines a computerized workstation with specialized analysis software (DynaCAD for Prostate) and it's first MR-guided biopsy device (DynaTRIM).
Invivo's DynaCAD for Prostate solution provides physicians with a customizable set of advanced tools for performing immediate analysis of prostate MR images. Invivo's DynaTRIM is a fully MRI-compatible device for Trans-Rectal Interventional MRI of the prostate gland. A removable device, DynaTRIM is designed to attach to an MR imaging table with an open design that allows for flexibility and a cleanable foam pad for extra patient comfort.
The pairing of DynaCAD for Prostate with DynaTRIM then enables a physican to conduct targeted MRI examinations of suspicious areas within the prostate gland. "The better the sample, the more uniformity in diagnosis," explains Dr. David B. Kaminsky of Palm Springs Pathology Services. "I have personally witnessed the calm reception of the patient during set-up and biopsy procedure which cultivates the patient's participation in navigating his illness and reduces anxiety to foster compliance with the technique," he adds.
When patients show elevated and/or rising PSA levels, some go on to multiple TRU-guided biopsies with negative results and are left without a diagnosis. The DynaCAD for Prostate and DynaTRIM may offer another option for clinicians and their patients.
